Ingredients
- 500g minced pork
- 1 carrot, finely chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 sticks of celery, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp shredded cheese
- 1 tbsp chia seeds (optional)
For the seasoning
- 1 egg
- 50g bread crumb
- 5 clove minced garlic
- 1 1/2 tsp freshly-grated ginger
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1/3 tsp salt
- a hint of pepper
For the sauce
- 2 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 2 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 1/2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 3 tbsp water
For thickening the sauce
- 1 tbsp katakuriko potato starch
- 2 tbsp water
Instructions
- 1. In a large bowl, combine minced pork, all vegetables (carrot, onion, celery) and cheese.
- 2. Mix all seasoning ingredients together. Shape mixture into meatballs. (2 to 3 cm or more as you desire.)
- 3. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Saute the meatballs until browned on all sides.
- 4. In a separate small bowl, mix together all sauce ingredients. (not corn starch and water) Pour over the meatballs. Let it boil.
- 5. Add the cornstarch diluted in water and cook until desired thickness is reached.
- Serve hot:)
