Japanese steamed rice with a rice cooker – gohan

Japanese steamed rice with a rice cooker – gohan

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Japanese rice or Japanese-style rice - short grain rice
  • 1 cup water

For example

  • 2 cups rice - 2 cups water
  • 3 cups rice - 3 cups water

For the ingredients for sushi vinegar - for 1 cup rice

  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1/ 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • 2/3 tsp salt

  • Or of course, you can just buy SUSHI VINEGAR and mix with rice.

Instructions

  • 1. Wash the rice well and drain.
  • 2. Put the washed rice in a rice cooker pot. Add the water to the rice.
  • 3. If there are any options on your rice cooker, then choose white rice. Click to start!
  • 4. Once the rice is cooked, let it steam for about 10 minutes. Fluff with a rice paddle gently and serve hot!

If you want to make sushi rice, then

  • 1. Add all sushi vinegar ingredients in a small bowl, mix well. Transfer the steaming hot rice into the large bowl, then while the rice is hot, pour sushi vinegar over the rice and cut in the rice gently using a rice paddle with the edge.
