Japanese roasted black bean snack

Japanese roasted black bean snack

Ingredients

  • 100g dry black beans (asian)
  • - Ingredient A -
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional)

Instructions

  • 1. Wash well dry black beans and soak into the water for 2 hours.
  • 2. Heat a frying pan over medium heat until hot and add the beans. Reduce the heat to low and saute until soft. (about 30 to 40 minutes)
  • 3. Add the soy sauce (sugar/optional), continuing to stir for a few seconds (15 sec?). Remove from the heat and dry, let it cool. Keep them in an airtight container.

    I soaked for few hours, strained dry and boiled for 20 mins, took out boiled black beans to dry and placed into an air fryer for about 30-40 mins. Failure the black beans is soft chewy not crunchy. Roasted in air fryer for 15 mins but result is bean still hard.

      I agree with the long soaking. Afterwards don’t boil them, simply fry/simmer them in a pan (no oil). Hope it works out!
